Welcome to Kiser Artworks
WV Covered Bridges, Railroad Stations, Barns, Old School Houses, Churches and other Historic Buildings and Places, representing many aspects of  our State's and our Country's heritage, are the subjects of most of my  artwork.
I believe it is worthwhile to remember , commerate and preserve our historical buildings, and other cultural traditions, through the arts and crafts as passed to us from previous generations before they disappear completely.
Some of the subjects of my work have been destroyed since I first completed the artwork, while others have been restored or are in the process of preservation today, so we may continue to enjoy them in the future.
I work primarily in pencil, pen & ink and oil.  I am experimenting in digital enhancement of some drawings, producing original artwork with a unique combination of medium and technique, and with beautiful results.
In addition, I do artwork which combines historical and/or contemporary photographs or images to produce an interprettion of, or to record,  events, situations and personalities significant to our society, and the world.  I also have fun with satire, producing an occasional political cartoon.
Thank you for visiting with me.  I hope you enjoy browsing through this site, and will find something of interest to you.  Your support makes it possible for me to continue working on my art.

The Grainary
grainary.jpg
Oil on Canvas

Calvin Brady lived in the heart of the Appalachians, carving a subsistance out of the rugged mountains of WV.  His grainary was hand hewen, as were most of the buildings on his farm on the Laurel Fork of the Holly River in Webster County.

Visit my History pages to view artwork which represents an interpretation of an historic or important event or person.  I believe we need to continually document, and note, the events and personalities that define our generations, and the times in which we live, and which continue to shape our society today.  Not all of the works I have included represent pleasant or happy times, but all reflect thought provoking, and inspirational instances at a time of formative importance to me.  Help preserve, and pass on to the next generation, the lessons from our past, and present, for the sake of the future.  Thank you for visiting this site.
